What is a Life Coach?

Coaching extends way beyond athletic competition these days. Successful people quickly learn that competition is intense in any field of endeavor and one secret to success is to surround yourself with successful people. A Life Coach is a mentor, usually one with a great deal of education, experience, and wisdom who works with a client one-on-one to accomplish specific goals, personal projects, business success, or life transitions.

How Does Life Coaching Work?

A Life Coach meets with a client several times either in person, by telephone, by email, through Skype (or FaceTime), or through other electronic means to help you achieve your dreams. While you are the only one who is an expert on your life, events in life often call for an unbiased answer to situations, events, or issues that arrive in the normal course of living. A Life Coach can help you make better decisions, help secure a dream job, help with managing stress and achieving balance in life, help you to develop a personal growth plan, assess business opportunities, act as a source of inspiration or motivation, and much more.

Unlike other services, I believe it is unethical to create long term dependent relationships. Good consultants, life coaches, or any other help profession should never create a dependent relationship with a client.

Business Coaching

Let’s face it, not all of us are experts in everything. Business Coaching works in many ways like a Life Coach except the focus is on the business owner/entrepreneur to provide support, feedback, and business advice. The personal support and feedback you receive as a client is the hallmark of a good coach.
