Alan W. Jackson

Stories of mystery, history, memory, and the places that shape us.

Welcome. This website is the home for my fiction, historical storytelling, essays, and works in progress. Some stories begin in small-town America, others beside a Highland loch or within the walls of an old Scottish inn. All of them begin with curiosity: about people, places, choices, and the stories we leave behind.

“A good story invites us to sit down, stay awhile, and see familiar things differently.”
— Alan W. Jackson

About this website

This is a growing archive rather than a finished destination. New pages, stories, essays, images, and project material will be added over time.

The first goal is simple: create a welcoming place where readers can discover the work and return as new material appears.

About Alan

A life shaped by leadership, teaching, service, and storytelling

Alan W. Jackson, DBA, served twenty-six years in the United States Army, spent three decades leading businesses as president and CEO, and later devoted a long academic career to teaching and developing future business leaders.

A recognized expert in strategic planning and organizational leadership, an award-winning teacher, and a pioneer of online education in Nebraska, Dr. Jackson brings the same discipline and curiosity to his writing that defined his professional life.

His creative work now turns toward history, memory, place, and storytelling—especially the myths, legends, and landscapes of Scotland. His books include Tales from Loch Awe and The Last Pint Inn of Glen Morag, with additional fiction and essays in development.
